Finally the wait is over, the Indian cricket fan is waiting for this for a long time. The BCCI teasing them by frequently changing their schedule announcement of Dream 11 IPL 2020. But finally, On 6th September, they announced the schedule of this season IPL. There is also a big relief for MS Dhoni & CSK fans as Chennai Super Kings is going to pay the opener of Dream 11 IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians on 19th September.

This time Indian premier league will be held in the UAE where Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah are the selected venue for this season of Dream 11 IPL. The tournament will be played for over 53 days. The tournament opener will be played between the arch-rival of IPL Mumbai Indians and Chennai Superkings on 19th September at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. While Dubai will host its first match on 20th September which will be played between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab at 7.30 pm Indian time and 6.00 pm local time at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It is followed by the match on Monday between Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at the same venue and timing. IPL schedule is given below along with the timing and venue.

Sharjah will host its first match on 22nd September where Rajasthan Royals face Chennai Super Kings Sharjah Cricket Stadium at 7.30 pm IST and 6.00 pm local time. This time there will be 10 doubleheaders and Abu Dhabi will host 20 round-robin games, while Dubai and Sharjah host 24 & 12 respectively. This year IPL 2020 has a total of 60 matches where 56 are league matches and 4 matches of playoffs which will be played by the top four teams in the point table.

How long will be this IPL 2020 season?

The IPL 2020 season will be played for 56 days will be longer in length than the previous two IPL. It will be played from 19 September to 10 November 2020. The timings scheduling for the matches is 7.30 pm and 3.30 pm according to the Indian Standard Time(IST). The IPL format will remain as earlier where the team plays two round-robin games against each other one at home and one away. The top four teams will qualify for the play-offs. While the first two spots team will play in qualifier 1 where the winning team will go directly into the finals while others will play Qualifier 2. The 3rd and 4th spot team will play in eliminator where the winning team will play against the losing team of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2.

Earlier this year IPL will be shifted from India due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in India. Countries including Newzealand and Sri Lanka also offer the hosting of the IPL 2020 season to BCCI. But it gets into the hand of the UAE who is hosting IPL for the second time. The currently announced schedule is only for the 56 league matches while the play-offs schedule will be released later. We will update you whenever the play-offs schedule will be announced.
